Farleigh Maxxis Team Get Set Up for The 15th August
Source: Latest News Articles from ACU.org.uk - Friday, 6th August 2010, 17:33 GMTIn warm sunshine, Event Manager, Di Thompson and the Series Paddock Co Ordinator, Chris Sprawson spent a few hours at the Farleigh Castle venue today measuring the Paddock Area, Car Parks and Trade Area. Our photograph shows them both outside of the circuit discussing the Traffic Management plan after reporting the rest of the site to be ready to go. The area known as the "International Paddock" will be for the non team trucks and will be in a prime area, next to the track, whilst the teams, (with their bigger units) will be situated just inside the main gate and adjacent to the "work area". After making the long train journey from Doncaster to Trowbridge (via Penzance but that is another story) Chris commented, " Having such a large flat area is good and of course we have to accommodate over forty Veteran riders at this event. The service road is a major asset and I am confident that everyone will be parked relatively close to the circuit, Waiting Zone and Work Area." The team from the organising club move into the green field site early next week to build the track for an event which is likely to be crucial to all teams and riders with title aspirations. We hope to have photographs on Monday evening of progress. Di Thompson concluded, " There has been very little rain in the area for the past two months and the circuit is very hard and dry. All of the top riders have entered and we have devised a good Traffic Management plan using the service road throughout the site and I am confident all will be in place and readty to go on Friday week. Judging by the amount enquiries we have had this is likely to be a bumper event as so many people have fond memories of Farleigh Castle." -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Read article

Honda Xtreme Academy Team Talk at Doncaster
Source: Latest News Articles from ACU.org.uk - Sunday, 4th July 2010, 22:02 GMTAs part of the Xtreme Academy initiative, riders are being given the opportunity to learn from industry experts including John Van Den Berk, who endorses the Academy and will be offering his advice to the young racers. At the Finingley round of the BYMX/Xtreme Academy championship, the CRF 150R riders will benefit from a talk delivered by John with information on riding technique, fitness training, diet and nutrition. John will also be joined by CAS Honda’s Evgeny Bobryshev, who is currently leading the British MX1 Championship aboard the CRF 450R and the is lying within the top ten in the World standings in only his first season contesting the MX1 series. The Xtreme Academy was launched earlier this year to help bring on young talent in off-road across Europe. In 2010 the Academy is taking place in the UK, Italy, Finland, Sweden and South Africa, but is set to expand over the next few years. The focus is on helping develop young riders competing on the CRF 150R to provide them with the foundation tools and skills to step onto the ladder as professional racers. Competitors in the Xtreme Academy programme this year are battling it out for an attractive prize fund and prizes from sponsors Vans shoes, Airoh helmets and Renthal. The 10-16 year old youth riders contesting the CRF 150R are benefiting from recognition as a Honda rider, as well as training provided by John. “The aim of the Xtreme Academy is to help the young riders at grass roots level develop their ability and talent as racers, and our intention is to help the CRF 150R riders as much as possible with this. John has a wealth of experience having competed at the highest level and as a World champion, but also he is now known as an experienced tutor with his own facility in Spain, which has provided training for some of the World’s current top racers.” “The UK Xtreme Academy riders are going to be benefiting from a talk by John at one of the forthcoming rounds. Honda racer, Evgeny Bobryshev, who has been really impressive this year in his MX1 debut and is currently leading the British championship, will also join John to help pass on his advice to the youngsters. This is hugely important, as it will play a pivotal role in developing the youngsters and the future stars of the sport,” said Honda Motor Europe Off-road manager, Roger Harvey. Toseland wants first season win at Misano
Source: WORLDSBK.COM | NEWS - Tuesday, 22nd June 2010, 10:21 GMTAs the season enters its second half, James Toseland's return to World Superbike must be viewed upon as positive. The Yamaha Sterilgarda rider has so far been on the podium four times in 14 races, with his best results being two runner-up slots at Assen and Monza in the first part of the season. So far however the 30 year-old ‘Piano Man' from Doncaster has yet to take a win so this coming weekend he will be aiming to do just that at the Misano Adriatico circuit. Toseland had a chat with WorldSBK.com during last week's testing session at the Adriatic circuit. Could Misano be the right round for your first victory in 2010?"After the test I'm quietly confident that we've got a package that can compete at the front. Misano is known for being a Ducati track, the fastest Ducati is 36.2 which we've done today. It's going to be a tough race but we're definitely competitive here." What is your goal for the 2010 season?"We have a massive possibility of finishing top three which would be great after the knocks and bumps so far this year. I'm going to keep on pushing to do the best we can and close the gap to the front." What are the strong points of your Yamaha and what could be improved?"The bike is very stable on the brakes, top speed is pretty good. To improve we need consistency over race time and life tyre could be better, while the off corner acceleration compared to Aprilia could be improved." Read article
