With demonstration laps already confirmed from Alvaro Bautista on the Rizla Suzuki GSV-R MotoGP machine, the Alstare Suzuki racers will complete the star-studded demonstration line-up, with track appearances on their 2010 GSX-R1000 World Superbikes. “This really is the final piece in the jigsaw for the Brands Hatch festival weekend,” claimed Suzuki GB marketing manager, George Cheeseman. “With the earlier confirmation of the MotoGP parade lap, we’re now delighted to complete the line-up with Sylvain on Saturday and Leon on Sunday, adding to what’s set to be a fantastic BSB round. As well as our MotoGP and World SBK riders, fans will get the chance to win a goody bag every fifteen minutes*, meet the riders and even be in with a chance of winning a pillion ride with three times BSB champion, John Reynolds.” On Saturday only, all Suzuki owners, be it a motorcycle, car or ATV, are invited to the Suzuki GB hospitality unit between 2PM and 5PM for a complimentary drink**, where a selection of racers will be on-hand to chat and sign autographs. Barry Sheene Memorial Dinner at Brands Hatch
Source: British Superbike News - Tuesday, 8th June 2010, 12:57 GMTBarry Sheene The rescheduled date for the Barry Sheene Memorial Dinner has been officially announced as Saturday August 7th during the British Superbike weekend at the Kent race track, Brands Hatch. Guests will include Steve Parrish who will give an insight in to what it was like being Barry’s team mate and best friend. Margaret Smart and Paul Smart, Barry’s Sister and Brother in Law along with their son and current racer, Scott will be along also. It is also hoped that James Whitham will be along to interview some of the BSB riders. On show will be two of Barry’s ex GP bikes; the XR14 Suzuki 500 and the OW53 Yamaha 500. Also making an appearance will be the exciting new Icon Sheene Bike, being built in memory of Barry Sheene. There will be a fork buffet and the cost of the night will be a mere £25 a head. During the night there will be a raffle and an auction of items that money can’t buy which include: A framed career history and photo presentation personally signed by Barry Sheene. A framed Fiat Yamaha team shirt presented by the team and personally signed by Valentino Rossi. A pillion ride with John Reynolds on the Worx Suzuki GSXR at the final round of BSB at Oulton Park. Suzuki announce all-star track days

A host of racing stars are scheduled to attend, including Worx Suzuki riders Tommy Hill and Yukio Kagayama, across the three events which take place directly after the British Superbikes events at Brands Hatch Indy (April 7), Snetterton (July 13) and Cadwell Park (September 1). The exclusive days will be open to any Suzuki owner past or present, via a pre-registration process to be announced on www.imgsx-r.com shortly. “At Suzuki, we believe it’s the people that make things historic, so involving our customers, staff and friends in these special events seemed the perfect way to start our 25th anniversary celebrations for the GSX-R,” said Suzuki GB marketing manager, George Cheeseman. “With each event following a British Superbike round, we are pleased to confirm the participation of selected racers, including 2010 Worx Suzuki BSB riders Yukio Kagayama and Tommy Hill, the Relentless Suzuki by TAS pairing of Michael Laverty and Alastair Seeley with other special appearances to be confirmed.” The events will offer participants the chance to ride some of the UK’s best race circuits with the stars, while gaining valuable riding tips from the current BSB racers and three-times BSB Champ John Reynolds, as well as the added opportunity try out a new GSX-R too*.
